100 Burpee Challange FINISHED!

I Burpee'd in the morning,
Burpee'd in the Evening,
Burpee'd in Texas, Oklahoma, and Alaska.

I Burpee'd in snow, and the rain, and in sunshine.
Burpee'd with friends, dogs, cats, and livestock.

I Burpee'd while bleeding, while sweating, while freezing.
I Burpee'd in my sleep, sometimes while dreaming.

I Burpee'd in french, I Burpee'd in the Dark
I Burpee'd for time, and Burpee'd in the Park.

When I started the Burpees, I though no way,
But as time went on, they got easier by the day.

Now at 50 years young,
I completed my challange,
I surprised myself that I was able to get-r-done.

Re: 100 Burpee Challange FINISHED!

Actually, once I was in the 50's they started to get easier. I had started them with sets of 10. By the time I was in the 80's I was doing sets of 25-30. Doing the Burpees in different places taught me they are called different things to different people. Awe, that puzzeled look I got when I mentioned what I was doing. "What's a Burpee?"

I did miss day 67. So that ment 135 of them the following day. I learned NEVER, NEVER miss another day. The total count was a minimum of 5,050. But there were WOD's in that stretch that had 100+ burpees in them.

I looked at my daily schedule and realized that I get up about 5:30 AM and would just sit at the computer. So I got the idea "why not do the Burpees then". Worked out great. Had them done by 6 AM. I didn't have that hanging over my head the rest of the day.

We're on day 81 here and my shoulders are hurting. Just waiting for my "third wind" to kick in for them... heh. Only 20 days to go so I can't quit now!

Re: 100 Burpee Challange FINISHED!

Here I thought this thing was tough, then I read about the Burpee Mile!

I too was doing them in sets of 10. Then when I pushed it to 20+ sets, things went a lot faster, and that was better. I found that when I separated the Burpees of the day away from whatever WOD I was doing, that too was a good thing. When I got into the 70's, I saw this as a doable challange to myself. That "hey I can do this thing". I posted on the walls of my workout area goals that I wanted to achieve. So that every burpee day, I saw those goals and that the burpees were a must. Doing them in the morning before any activities got started was a good thing too, so I wasn't interupting my wife's plans.

Good luck Chris, Kevin. It's a tremedous feeling of accomplishment once you've completed it. For me it's like getting to the top of a 14er in Colorado.
