Just found an interesting dicotomy

I live in an apartment...a nice place, but not a lot of room to workout in, or store a lot of excercise equipment in. I have a KB, Pullup bar, wallball, but no weights, bars, or anything else, so I figured my best bet was to join a "Gym" and do my weight lifting and rowing there, depending on the WOD.

So I went to a local Gym, I'll call it "Glods Gym", and lo and behold, they actually have a certified crossfit trainer there, with all sorts of functional equipment useful to any crossfit afficianato - actual sturdy boxes for jumps, rings, paralettes, even KBs of various weights. I was surprised. I used to belong to another Chain Gym, I'll call it "A.L. Fitness", and they literally prohibited me from doing any CF workouts.

So, they're out there, chain gym sites that not only accept CF, but promote it.

Hey Brian-
Would you mind elaborating on what exactly about CF are they promoting?
Do they list WODs or CF "classes" or group style CF "training" or even one-on-one CF training?

Inquiring minds want to know.

You'll find individual boxes vary greatly.

They post the Main Page WOD as well as the BrandX Scaled WODS. Also, they have a trainer there that is CF certified and will give a kind of intro to Crossfit class along with assistance in learning some of the excercises involved such as Kettelbells and box jumps.

I'm just glad that as someone who has been using CF on and off for a couple of years that theres a gym nearby thats positive towards CF. There are a couple of CF affiliates within driving distance of me, but they are cost prohibitive for me and I'll take what I can get.
