Re: Recommended barbell in Australia

First I have heard about the Adelaide CrossFit, So would love to go join!! Time table does not suit me, dam fitness industry they all want to train at peak times.....

Ive sent him a email, love to get another 12kg, then get some bigger ones 24kg 36kg

Few of the guys I train for Bootcamp, want to get weighted Vests, whats the best option?

Does anyone have a list of South Australian Gym / Fitness stores, So then we can rate who we think are best and give feedback on each store.

Re: Recommended barbell in Australia

you can see a lot of the maxim gear in action at thecellfitness.com.au (w/f/s). It's Jason Donaldson's affiliate. He got the hercules training bar and a whole bunch of the bumper plates from them... i was there on the weekend for the gymnastics cert and lot of the plates are still in shape, and the bar still feels great to use...

Re: Recommended barbell in Australia

Cool...great thread...I haven't checked in here for a while...exaclty what I was looking for! I'm CF out of a garage in a rural area outside Canberra, and have been looking at getting a bumper set for a while. Thanks for all the tips and photos. I also looked at the various sites you guys mentioned, so it's good to get the views once these items are in use......if I can talk my wife into it, maybe that stimulus package will help in making me fitter and healthier..thanks Mr Rudd...he he he

Steven,

I'm looking forward to this - that's the set I've been eyeballing for a while...

I tried to do some relatively heavy (for me...) C&J with my crappy cheapo weight set today...nearly snapped my wrist twice before I settled for heavy DB C&J...

Hey Sam,

I put some photo's on here a couple of pages back, not sure if you've seen them or not (got these bumpers and bar from maxim). If you want any specific photos let me know (close ups or whatever), and I'm happy to snap away!!!

Cheers,

Michael

Re: Recommended barbell in Australia

Hey Michael, that would be good. Could you get a photo of your barbell loaded with the plates? Just to show how much weight you could potentially put on there with those particular plates.

No worries. So your barbell and plates were $700 all up? How much weight did you get?

Re: Recommended barbell in Australia

Hey guys, my internet is terrible (have the plug in USB type at the moment, don't recommend it at all - drops out every five seconds!)

Anyway, it's taken me a few days to upload the pics to my blog (last pics I uploaded it there, then posted them here as a link - don't know how to put a jpg straight from my desktop into the forum).

There's pics of all the plates, the bar, and all of the plates (105kg worth) on the bar. Total of 125kg, which was $700 (more if you pay by card...).

Don't have a squat rack (yet!) so is doing the job for cleans, presses, snatches, and high rep DL / squats!

Check out my pics by clicking on my blog link in my signature - wfs (it's not very professional I know, have just started getting into it!!!)

Cheers,

Michael
