Sudden foot pain! Need advice...

Im into my second week of Starting Strength and my foot started killing me yesterday afternoon for some reason. I went for a light 20min jog in the morning but I never rolled my ankle or anything. The pain right around the metatarsal/cuboid area. Its a sharp pain and its only evident when Im walking or load bearing. There is no swelling or redness.

I went and saw the doctor this morning and he said that its more than likely some soft tissue or bone brusing from the area. I take it I should just take it easy and rest for the next couple of days correct? Dose anyone have some advice to speed up this process?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Sudden foot pain! Need advice...

I usually Squat and Deadlift in barefeet. When I hurt my ankle walking, I was in sandals

The wierd thing is is that my area of complain has no swelling or redness at all?

Try wearing shoes, and see when you deadlift, see if it comes back. You may have a stress fracture.

I sure as hell hope not! I was doing some research and it sounds like it may be "Cuboid" sublexation. I made an appointment to see my physiotherapist tomorow to see if theres anything he can do to speed things up. I also bought some traumel cream to kill any inflamation.

Re: Sudden foot pain! Need advice...

My therapist confirmed that I more than likely have sublexed cuboid syndrome. As I type this, my feet are in a bucket of water and ice and its bloody freezing. 2-3 weeks before Im pain free and maybe a couple more before I can squat and deadlift heavy again Time for some heavy upper body work which I could use anyways!
