Almost didn't go today...then set a huge C&J PR!

I'm pretty stoked. Catching a clean has been a huge nemesis of mine since day one. At first, I was nowhere even near being able to rack the bar. I have been diligently working on it and it was getting better and better. I could at least rack it properly when doing a front squat, but getting in position to jerk it was still impossible.

Then I had a shoulder/neck injury (skiing) and was set back a little bit.

Last night, I saw our WOD posted, and was pretty bummed out because I didn't think I was going to have much luck:

Muscle-clean + Push press 5-5-5-5 reps
Power clean + Front squat + push jerk 3-3-3-3 reps
Clean & jerk 1-1-1-1 reps

I woke up at 4:30am with a screaming headache, took some IB and went back to bed. Two hours later, fearing for my shoulder, I almost didn't go to our 7am WOD. But I did...and as I was messing around with an empty bar early on, realized I could suddenly catch a clean in the proper rack position!

By the second C&J, I had matched my PR (75kg, I weigh around 174). By the third, I hit 81 easily. I ended up at 85. The clean wasn't super pretty, but I caught it OK, then easily jerked it.

Anyways, just a little **&^ waving, but I am pretty fired up. It just goes to show...GO TO THE GYM, you never know what might happen.
