Re: Why do you train?

I train because it makes me feel good. I am less stressed when I train and able to enjoy the little things in life.

Re: Why do you train?

Because it greatly reduces my stress. Seriously, I think I'm a gym junkie because when I go on vacation where there is no gym, I turn in to a monster.

Re: Why do you train?

haha....I had to give this some thought b/c I don't want it to devolve into hyperbole.

I was a big fan of comic books when I was little. My favorite out of all of them, was superman. But I could never understand why a guy who could tear planets in half, withstand a nuke without his hair even moving, and fly faster than the spped of light, cared about what happened to a bunch of lowly humans. I asked my dad about it, and what he said stuck with me.

"Because the duty of the strong is to protect the weak."

Ever since then, the subtext of everything I do is an effort to become stronger. I'm in law school because I want to be able to stand up for the little guy. And I train for the same reason. Because I want my body to be as formidable as my mind, ready willing and able to triumph over anything-EVERYTHING-that comes my way.

Re: Why do you train?

I train because when all is said and done I want to see what my children have become and to know their children.

Re: Why do you train?

To be able to do things I couldn't do 20 years ago. To be able to do more in 20 years than I can now. To be strong. To look good. To reduce stress. To protect. To defend. And if need be, to hunt.

Re: Why do you train?

I train for a few reasons:
1. to be able to keep up with my daughter for a long, long time
2. to feel better, and be healthier
3. to look better naked (that one's for my wife)
4. to compete at a national level in grappling some day.
