Random Nutrition

On most days I take a multi and fish oil. Sometimes I take other things such as acidophilus and digestive enzymes. I was thinking about the paleo concept and I have started to randomly vary how much and what I take. Anyone else have any experience doing this? What do others think about htis approach.

Re: Random Nutrition

Michael,

I'm on paleo and all I take is fish oil and a non dairy probiotic. Most of the mainstream probiotics contain dairy products. Is that what your acidophilus is? A probiotic? All of the people I know on paleo are also taking fish oils and probiotics as well. I am not a big fan of multivitamins.

Re: Random Nutrition

Michael, I'm pretty sure that what you're describing is kind of an Evolutionary Fitness approach.

Not sure what, if anything DeVany takes (I'm guessing he probably stops at fish oil and probiotics if he takes anything at all), but he advocates randomizing caloric intake (and also preaches Paleo eating, though i haven't seen him specifically refer to food as paleo or not).

I occasionally apply EF to my patterns, as I'm always tinkering and trying to find what works best for me (I think I'm almost dialed in). I think that randomizing your supplements sounds like a fine idea. I suppose the body could get used to anything, even fish oil
