Sarena; I've been trying to get my wife to do Crossfit & she's been after me to do Yoga, I think she'll win (don't tell her).
Are you doing any particular type of yoga for the warm up/cool downs? |

Yes, we are adding in some yoga to CrossFit. Its no joke, and requires the same need to focus under duress as the workout. Also helps with recovery big time. I have supertight shoulders and hips, which are a big limitation in BJJ. Yoga is helping me to get a lot better on the ground.
Jen, thanks for the pics, and for coaching with Jerry and Russ |

Our trainers lead us into diff stretches--incl down dog, cobra, plank, side plank, lunges, splits....All these yoga moves have carryover in numerous directions. Michael, yoga is so awesome! I recently did a yoga teacher training. That's where i met Keith--my CF coach! Working with him has totally changed my yoga practice, my body comp and stregnth! CF has given me so much as well. They can each go hand in hand. Try it--you'll appreciate it and probably come to love it!

Sarena, many reason I'm interested is the flexibility & to a degree...the calming effect.
My wife is taking Ashtanga, now to slip that into the mix as well. |

Yoga is pretty awesome I think. It works great for improving flexibility and is relaxing.

I find a few yoga postures and movements are good for warming up/down. Gymnastics and yoga have some crossover in various stuff. One of the coaches at the gym is also something of a yoga instructor, so that gets crossovered.
