Darwin, didn't he marry his cousin or something? And everyone knows that the earth is only 6,000 years old anyway (please no one run with this one, this is dangerously close to the AUP.)

excuse you. a cookie is just a cookie, but a newton is fruit and cake.

The next thing you'll be saying is that Peeps aren't just sugar and food coloring! (sorry "colouring" for those of you that changed your language to emulate the French.)

You forgot Jaguar, Land Rover, Lotus, TVR, Rolls Royce, and Bently.

Though, admittedly, all those brands are a bit diluted (or gone) at this point.

Apart from Lotus, which is still churning out fantastic stuff.

I maintain that we make better beer in the US microbreweries and all that "euro beers are better" is hogwash.

Also, Guinness is the budweiser of stouts. There, I said it.

And according to CFR's catchphrase, the Double Bast@rd would be the perfect brew for CrossFit.

Re: Heard in the Office Today

I work at police department and I heard one of my supervisors tell me about a report that another officer on my shift wrote. The reports that we do are supposed to be written at a third grade level so that they are easy to understand, but they also written as if they are going to be read in front of the supreme court (Never know when your traffic stop is gonna become case law). So, this officer performed a traffic stop early that day which resulted in him finding several large bags of marijuana under the driver's seat. The suspect ran when the officer attempted to arrest him. So, what does this officer do? Start a foot pursuit? No. He gets in his car and radios that the suspect ran and starts to patrol the area trying to find him. Well anyway, the report read as such. "The suspect ran like a cheetah!!!!"

Have another good story about another fellow officer. He was dispatched to some chemical plant at six in the morning because someone called and said that a few deer when just running into a fence over and over. The officer gets there and finds the deer stuck between the fence and the road. The deer won't cross the road so they just keep running headlong into the fence. I hear my supervisor call him to another channel. (My first thoughts are my supervisor is gonna have him shoot the deer. So I start back to the police department to get my pickup because we all know you shouldn't let such tasty animals go to waste.) I flip over to the other channel and hear the officer explaining that the deer are trying to get over the fence and can't. My supervisor asks him if he is underneath the deer trying to help it over. The officer asks him if he is serious and my supervisor says that he is. The officer says "Okay, gimme a second to go help them." Next thing I hear on the radio is the pitter patter of feet on the ground and him screaming "Theys chasing me, theys chasing me." Almost wrecked my unit because I laughed so hard.

It's gonna be a while they are able to live those stories down.

True, but the engineering is still native (for Lotus, Rolls, Bently, and Aston, anyway... not sure about Jag and Land Rover, I think some of that is done here now).
