Masutatsu Oyama during his 14 month yamagomori (mountain training)

Practice "Natural Movement" in Brazil for 1 year with its founder.

Mike Burgener. There's just something special about the snatch.

Dean Karnazes

Coach Rip (target weaknesses, right?)

Don't know this for sure, but I suspect that most pre-modern (non-standing) armies didn't work out on a regular basis. Poor sods just lived very hard lives.

Medieval English apparently had compulsory longbow practice on Sundays, but longbow practice only made you fit for longbow use - experienced archers were deformed by the heavy asymmetric load:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't the Spartans a standing army and warrior culture?

What nobody wants to workout with Jessica Biel after Powder Blue? : or Blade 3? Oly lifting, of course.

Top 5 ppl I want to workout with?

Pretty much the CrossFitMarin crew. Maybe some of my friends in sacto if we all got together.

Double-checked and you're right:

Impressive piece of organisation for the time.

So, not exactly an "imaginary" girl, but not exactly a "real" girl, either.

Not in order:

Ripp
AllisonNYC
Renee
2009 games winner
My Dad so hopefully I can change his eating/exercise habits (or lack thereof) so that he won't have a heart attack again (sad but true).

Well, actually Dad's first, the others are in no particular order!

Re: Top 5 People You Want To Workout With?

1) Jon Hinds - seems to get very little mention around here. I love his stuff and follow his workouts more than any others.

2) Pavel Tsatsouline - I would want to see if he is a master of strength or a master of marketing. I imagine it is somewhere in between.

3) Louie Simmons - as far as raw power goes there is simply no one better.

4) John McCallum - Keys to Progress is great. Old school guy that taught a nation how to squat.

5) Franco Columbu - no reasoning, just a personal favorite. I love that he was an elite old school body builder and a strongman competitor. You would not see that today.
