Hello everyone

...didn't know if this is done usually. I just wanted to say hello.
I found CF a couple of months back on the Internet. Don't remember how. I found an affiliate near me and took a Bodyweight and KettleBell Seminar Feb 28th.
Jersey Shore CrossFit - The Training Room.
Got my wife and eldest daughter involved after that. (Youngest will come along eventually... they are both part time PT's.)
I belong to two globos and also have a garage gym.
The memberships are getting cancelled and the garage gym is already partly rehabbed to a CF workplace. More equipment going in all the time as I get the old sold off...

I had finally earned my black belt in an eclectic style of karate based on Kenpo at 51. But a few months after that I felt I needed a new goal. I increased my running and ran a bunch of races; ended with a half marathon in Oct last year. But the physique it gave me was not what I had in mind.

Back to just working out on my own, when I discovered CF. Now just completing the workouts are goals every day! I am constantly juiced!
And the fitness you guys develop! Not to mention the capabilities in all areas... just incredible.

So now my eldest and I are practicing the basics in preparation for the level 1 cert in Montclair June 20.
It's good to be a CF'r -Yeah!

Re: Hello everyone

Welcome, Mark!

After years as a constantly-injured runner, I'm working out on my own as well - backyard, garage, wherever. My youngest drags me to the playground on the weekends so I do the WODs while he does his own version.

Very cool about you and your eldest.

Enjoy!

Re: Hello everyone

Welcome, Mark! If you haven't already, I hope you will take the Journal. It has been a great help on technique and encouragement to me. Also, don't know if you've seen the BrandX scaled workouts in the 'Start Here' section on the main Crossfit page.
