Re: Seen at the globo yesterday

Well, the more noise the better the results, right? Right?
He's obviously operating on the "perception of effort expended" theory rather than "actual effort". Easy mistake to make!

Re: Seen at the globo yesterday

Finally had a good circuit this morning from the gym staff!!!

3 rounds for time of:
10 push ups
run 200m
10 sit ups
run 200m
10 lunges
run 200m
50 x skipping
run 200m
10 med ball throws (just launch med ball up into air)
run 200m
10 V-sit ups (leg straight, touch foot with hands)
run 200m
10 squats
run 200m
rest 3:00

A little more running than I would have liked, but meh.
Got a good enough workout that I didn't have to go and do my own afterward

Now to convert this guy to CrossFit, hopefully it shouldn't be too hard...

powerlifter don't actaully deadlift that much. They just yell at the bar until it gets so scared, it goes up on it own.

Re: Seen at the globo yesterday

Oh I got my first one, so I tried doing todays WOD (7x1 thrusters) at lunch in the armouries, but ran out of time, so I made a second attempt a couple hours later before muay thai class. So I have the bar loaded with my weight (145lbs not much, my pressing sucks), and while I doing the workout I noticed the two roid monkeys curling the 90lbs dbell, giving me the stink eye and as I do full ROM thrusters. As I rested between sets they appeared to be doubling their 1/4 ROM curls. After I was done I decided to really put on show by doing L-sit pull-ups (3x10), in the cable station beside them. So of course they up their dbell weight, (cause they know there is no way they can even do a pull up). I just walk away smiling on the inside.

Sometimes I just look at the bar like "Get the F up you little b&tch" and it just magically jumps into my hands overhead. Seriously.

Re: Seen at the globo yesterday

Well, I have a ton of globo-gym stories from watching kids in my residence work out in our basement gym, but most of those bases have been covered (excess weight, grunting, body movements not consistent with exercise aim, etc...). However, I figured I'd add these two strips from my favorite childhood comic to the discussion:
