Plantar fasciitis... from lifting?

Hey--

I've recently started getting a bout of plantar fasciitis. I'm no stranger to PF (last time because I started running too hard and fast on hard surfaces without stretching, like an idiot), but it hasn't been an issue in a while.

The thing that struck me as weird is that I'm not doing any running. I even cut out my jump rope. I'm in the middle of a SS cycle; the only stuff I'm doing is lifting and walking around the city (in good shoes that haven't failed me yet).

In the context of lifting, most motions are "press your heels down"--the only exception I can think of is power cleans. Is that enough to develop PF? It'd surprise me, but I guess I can see it...

Re: Plantar fasciitis... from lifting?

I also had a serious case of PF and eventually diagnosed the problem as having pretty bad hip rotation from left to right. By performing corrective exercises to straighten my pelvis out I found dramatic relief. I also performed a lot of soft tissue Foam Rolling Work. It was about a 8 week process. I now play basketball and run a few times a week in addition to the WOD on the main site and have had O problems. Email me at athletesfitness@mac.com if you're interested in the corrective exercises. They're basically core exercises for your hip.

Hm; may be related as I've also had some discomfort in my hip on the left side (same side as the PF). Will PM.

Hi Kevin, could you post the exercises, or a link to them, on the message board? Thanks!
