Dynamax for Slam Ball?

Hey Guys,

I am wanting to purchase a 20lb ball that I can use for both wall ball and slam ball. I have never used a dynamax and was wanting to know if it was durable enough to do slamball?

Thanks

I would not recommend using it as a slam ball. If you want a med ball to slam and use for a wall ball, use the d-ball. Just know that there is always the possibility that the d-ball will break and you will have to use the warranty. They added 1LB to the thickness of the shell in order to increase the amount of slams you can get. We have about 10 of the new d-balls at our facility and have not broken them yet.

You can use it for wall balls, just make sure you don't let it hit your nose!

Bill

The dynamax balls are A) too big B) have no bounce. D-Balls are perfect for slams, go with the yellow ball not the orange.

Re: Dynamax for Slam Ball?

I just noticed this thread, after searching for info on both D-balls and Dynamax balls.

I understand that the Dynamax ball is unsuitable for slamball. But (not having done either wall ball or slam ball) I don't see the drawback of using the D-Ball for both wallball and slamball. Can someone explain?

Also, does anyone have a sense of which exercise comes up more often in the WODs?

Yes, one can wallball and slamball a d-ball.
Wall comes up much more often than Slam, well until that changes.

So then why not just get the D-ball? There must be some advantage the Dynomax ball has for wallball purposes; otherwise, I assume everyone would rely on D-balls for both wallball and slamball.

One more thing, while I'm at it:

How does this 20 lb ball from Christian's Factory look for both wallball and slamball? It certainly is less expensive than the Dynomax and Dball. http://www.christiansfitnessfactory....-type-two.html

Re: Dynamax for Slam Ball?

Lots easier to catch and play with.

And I guess better for gauging squat depth, though I'm not big on that.
