Secrets of Psyllium
anyone heard of this? they sell at Trader Joes. I was told it was a fiber supplement? anyone

You shouldn't need a fiber supplement if you're eating enough vegetables and fruits.

I buy mine at Costco. I don't eat enough fruit or vegetables and this really helps. I know it isn't ideal, but it works great for me. I take it twice a day.

I've used that stuff in the past. The psyllium is nothing special. It's the same stuff that metamucil uses they just package it differently. I actually dislike the Trader Joe's kind. It's unflavored and the particles are too big making the consistency not so pleasant.
Like Shane said you shouldn't need it with proper vegetable intake, and if you find yourself needing it then I'd recommend finding the source of the problems. For me that happens when I drink too much milk for mass gain purposes. Magnesium also helps in that department. |

+1 to magnesium. I just started taking Natural Calm at night and um. Yeah. It works. LOL.

I take a Psyllium/Acidophilus combo from Vitamin Shoppe. A little extra scrubbing doesn't hurt.

Ideally, yes. Although it's much easier to get fiber through diet. And if you're not getting something as abundant as fiber, you're probably missing out on a whole lot more than just fiber.

Thanks Shane - I know (think) I'm not getting enough fiber because I don't eat enough fruit n veg. I will have to try to figure out if I'm getting enough Magnesium & Calcium from my Diet and go from there.
