Evans v. Ortiz

My gut says Evans but my heart says Ortiz (mainly because I always thought Evans was too cocky/arrogant). Thoughts? I picture Evans winning a decision or perhaps by TKO in the 2nd or 3rd once his frustrates Ortiz with his speed.

Re: Evans v. Ortiz

I have zero desire to watch this and even less desire to hear the uninspired smack talk that will go down leading up to this. I was really hoping Tito's last fight was actually his last fight.

Re: Evans v. Ortiz

I won't be buying the PPV for this one, it doesn't interest me that much, though I am curious to see how the fight goes. Sherdog play by play for this one.

UFC Rio on the other hand! I can't wait. If you haven't seen the "coming home" promo you should, it's gorgeous (WFS).

Re: Evans v. Ortiz

This is a particularly underwhelming card so I'm not getting the PPV either. I think the main event is interesting, but not enough for the $$. I really disliked Rashad after the UF show, but it seems like he's matured over time. I'm on the fence with Ortiz. Tons of smack talking over the years without being able to back it up, but you can't help but respect him for getting in there with the top guys (often multiple times).

Truth be told, I haven't bought any fights all year.

Re: Evans v. Ortiz

Agreed. My dislike for Rashad stems entirely from TUF.

And I also feel Tito's LHW dominance is inflated. He was great for the time (and perhaps that is all that matters) but split decisions over Forrest and Vitor and wins over Shamrock don't say much post-title reign, and it isn't like Sinosic and Matyushenko were exceptionally top tier. Tanner was great, but smaller than Tito and was knocked out in that slam when they collided heads.

I don't know what my point is other than I'm interested, but won't be buying.

I won't be buying the PPV because I don't want any card with Tito on it to have my money. I have the same feelings about Rampage Jackson. Two overrated *******es who offer nothing positive to the sport. Rashad isn't my favorite person on earth, but on TUF he looked like a saint compared to Jackson. I beg the fates to give this one to Rashad in such a way that Tito is compelled to disappear from the public eye forever.

Re: Evans v. Ortiz

There were some good, entertaining fights on this card: I was pleasantly surprised with some of it. Good on Evans for taking out Ortiz, I say. I felt bad for Akiyama though, downed so quickly in just one round.

Re: Evans v. Ortiz

I was hoping for more from Akiyama since I always root for Judo guys (years of judo here) but I like Belfort too, so that was win-win for me.

Re: Evans v. Ortiz

Tito should've finished that guillotine. He's definitely improved in his jiu jitsu but he needs more work. Pedro Sauer is an excellent teacher and has a ton of jiu jitsu videos at this website WFS
