elite rings vs. xtreme rings - mounting

Hello, new member to the forums in search of some product feedback.

I need to purchase a set of rings and I am most concerned about their mounting abilities.

The product sites for the elite rings and xtreme rings lack pictures or detailed information about how the rings are mounted.

I am looking to use the rings at home (on a pull-up bar) and also at the gym I train clients at (bars, squat rack, etc)

I would appreciate any feedback on how these two products differ or any suggestions users may have.

Thanks in advance, Jason

We're using one set of each right now, and they both can be used very easily from pull-up bars. No difference, really.

I have a set of the elite rings.. they work. I go them on sale for fifty something... not sure if they're still doing that deal. If they are, you should definitely consider them over the xtreme... they're 50 dollars more and not much different.

Andrew,

Actually, the Xtreme rings are currently only $55, compared to $71.95 for the Elites. I slightly prefer the feel of the Elite rings, but there seems to be a pretty even split between the two within the CF community.

Xtreme ring mounting is simple. Throw buckle over _____ . Thread strap. Finished. Took mine to the gym yesterday when we (CrossFitBirmingham) did Rowing & Kte's.

I've got Xtremes too- great rings, like the texture more than others I've tried.
Good service too! Price was the best part.

Re: elite rings vs. xtreme rings - mounting

I'm liking the Rogues a lot. Easier to thread through the buckle than the elites and they have velcro ties on them so you can keep the excess strap out of the way. Another plus is that the buckles won't dig into your arms while doing dips. Yes, you can adjust the elites so this doesn't happen but it's easier with the Rogues. Just seems like more thought went into the design.

The feel is also very nice. If I'm not mistaken, they are a little wider than the elites.

Only con might be that they're heavier.

The hardest part of mounting rings is finding something adequately high to hang them from.

For my purposes the open beams in my basement work just fine but the are much too low for the rings intended use.

Re: elite rings vs. xtreme rings - mounting

Thanks for the helpful replies everyone...

I am prepping for a transformation in my fitness that is to begin next month, and purchasing the rings was part of that. I am going to start a workout journal at some point in early September and properly introduce myself there.

I ended up buying a pair of the xtreme rings. I can't wait to see how muscle ups feel.
