Oh yeah, and the only one I've ever actually FELT any different with is Double X (look it up). Really good stuff, and it's not one of those "your body won't even absorb any of this" ones, these things will dissolve in water in 15 minutes.

Yeah. Multimineral, multivitamin, fish oil, glucosamine. I occasionally add some C if I'm having a problem getting fresh fruit or orange juice. If I don't take the glucosamine for a while I get reminded which knee is the bad knee. The others I take for completeness - I may not need it thanks to my diet, but I'd rather spend the money and make sure I'm getting enough than skip it and suffer for the lack.

I use Nature's Way, because it's the only reasonably complete vitamin I can find here in Japan and because the tablets will dissolve into mush if I let them get even a little wet. As I found out when I dropped a few tablets onto a wet countertop and then had to clean up the mess. So I know they're breaking down and giving me the benefits.

I also mix 5g of glutamine into the 500ml bottle of water I bring to the gym with me, and I take another 5g in my post-workout shakes. That's aided my recovery nicely since I started doing that. Less DOMS, let tiredness, a few fewer colds as well - though that may be an easier cold season as well.

I tried glucosamine, but got no relief from it. I was on Vioxx before the FDA pulled it from the market---but that's another story---don't get me started.

My doctor switched me to Celebrex, but it seems pretty ineffective.

I've just done a pile of research on supplements, most of it originating from the search function here. I did two searches, one for 'supplement' and one for 'fish oil' (both in the title) and got way more info than I was looking for.

I found this thread to be one of the most helpful:

I currently take:
ASA 81 mg
Beta Carotene 25000 mcg
B100
niacin 3000 mg
C 3000 mg
D 1000 mg
E 400 iu
pharmaceutical grade fish oil (Norwegian Naturals) 4000 mg
calcium 600 mg
magnesium 300 mg
selenium 150 mcg
zinc 50 mg

I'm in the process of dropping the BC, B100, C, E, and minerals in favour of Greens+ Multi. I think once I'm done that jar I'll try and find a source for whole food (not synthetic) vitamins.

The big lesson I pulled away from all that research was that you need to have your diet, WODs, and sleep all tuned in perfect before worrying too much about supplements.

My diet isn't lacking in synthetic vitmain C, or E or multi-vitmains.. it's more so lacking in fruits and vegetables which contain thousands and thousands of nutrients, not just 40+ in a multi vitmain. Not saying i don't try eat as much as i can, but it's just not possible for me to be eating as much as i really should be. So i suppliment with a whole food suppliment which provides me with the nutrients from fruits and vegetables. I also take fish oil and grainfields probiotics (mixing up between the majority of their liquid probiotics).
