What do you think of slam balls for conditioning?

I think that they are a good tool for conditioning. But like all things, you have to use them properly.

In my bootcamps, I use 20# for males or stronger women, and 10# for females, smaller men and teens. One WOD that we did was 20 minute AMRAP:40 slams, 40 Russian twists and 40 Atlas Lunges....

Re: Slam balls

They are definitely a useful tool. Just mix it up

Re: Slam balls

They are, like anything else, a tool but that being said...

They are in my triplet of the absolute worst metabolic suck movements I've ever used/tried/had clients try and I've done quite a lot. That triplet would be

Burpees
Thrusters
Med Slams

I'm a fan. Easy to explain and teach and they do the job of causing as much disruption in the body as possible quite well.
