Muscle Up grip

Hi Folks

Just looking some advice on my grip for the muscle ups. The false grip is great but i find it hard to do multiple muscle ups in one go.

Has anyone any videos or tips on how to do muscle ups with the normal pull up grip?

Or any thoughts in general that would help me.

The simple answer is to get stronger in your false grip. When you're comfortable enough with it, there won't be much difference between false grip and regular grip.

You can do non-false grip muscle ups. It is a skill that must be trained for. The easiest way is to start by Kipping extremely hard to practice, then as you become more proficient you can lessen the kip.

Can you do a kipping bar muscle up. It is very similar to the non-false grip MU on rings (in that you want to start with a BIG kip).

Look for Carl Paoli's videos in the CFJ. His front uprise kipping muscle-up generates a big swing and doesn't use a false grip.

That is the trick...big swing or a very strong fast pull up if done strict.

Check out it's a pretty good tutorial website. I've used it a lot for handstand style stuff and has corrected a lot for me!
