Healthy Deodorant

Hopefully someone with a scientific background can help me out on this... I've seen enough studies questioning the long-term effects of the types of of Aluminum Chlorohydrates found in most antiperspirants that I've switched to an all natural variety of deodorant.

What I'm using now is a Crystal Body Stick. It obviously doesn't do much to stop sweating, but does a great job of eliminating underarm odor. Thing is, the listed ingredients are "Natural Mineral Salts and Ammonium Alum"- the latter of which, I'm guessing, refers to some kind of aluminum. Is this still safe, or can anyone recommend another product?

Thanks

Re: Healthy Deodorant

I've tried the crystal stick, I think it sucks. But then again, I'm always in and out demonstrating exercises, so I sweat more than the guy in the office.

I use this stuff (wfs).....You don't smell like a hippie, it doesn have aluminum, and it works well.

If you don't sweat much, you can use half a lemon, just rub some of the juices on and get rollin'

I've been looking for some stuff like this too. I'm a HUGE fan of not smelling like a hippie. Patchouli makes me nauseous. Good stuff. The lemon idea is strange but worth a shot, I guess.

I use Terra Naturals, smells fine (sweet mint for example, you can also get non-scented) and works. Not too expensive either.

Re: Healthy Deodorant

I've tried a lot of "natural deodorant", none of the oil based ones work or plant based. They work for normal people but if you are busting out a wod then rolling to work you are going to be a stinkbomb. What I found to work the best is actually the Arm and Hammer Essentials Natural Deodorant Unscented, you can find this at publix also.

Re: Healthy Deodorant

I found this product in Chicago, and I highly recommend. A little expensive on the surface, but one can lasts about 6 months and the production does work.

Forget deodorant, it's all about spreading the pheromones.
