Re: What Does Your Ink Mean?

Mine is based on the tribal tattoos of the Iroquois (my grandmother is Seneca). It is full chest and back. The downpointing arrows signify strength and protection. There are 4 of these per quadrant as 4 is a sacred number (4 directions of the wind and 4 seasons). The white space between the arrows form French Gothic arches (as my mother is Quebecois/Metis). There are three of these per quadrant signifying the holy trinity (father, son, holy spirit). In the middle of my chest is a bobcat, my personal totem. In the middle of my back is a Fleur D' Lis (the symbol for Quebec and a representation of the holy trinity).

Re: What Does Your Ink Mean?

I have St. Michael on my back, my fraternity letters on my left leg, an olympic lifter on my right leg, and my college mascot logo (before they changed it) on my right hip.

I'm thinking about getting one more on my shoulder, something representing the trinity with my wife and two kids names in it. Or, I think the Captain America shield (round one) would look cool.

Re: What Does Your Ink Mean?

Oooh...oh..oh!!! Another tattoo thread! I have 4, about 34 less than I want. And get this, I spent about 2 years learning and applying tattoos from home. I was pretty damn good too.

Anyway, here's my largest, it's actually two pieces from two different artists. It's the classic dedication to my wife, Kerry. A name tattoo? You better believe it. Pre-crossfit arm BTW.... no muscles.

I don't have pictures of my other two handy. On my left arm I have my aircrew wings from the USAF and on the inside of my left ankle I have a shamrock that I did myself.
