2008 Crossfit Games

Are there plans to have another Crossfit Games in 2008? I didn't find out about the 2007 until after the fact. I would love to give it a try.

Yes, I think they are scheduled for July 5th and 6th.

THAT would be sweet. Have participating affiliates run a "fitness contest" in their local area, and the top X people can attend the national CF Games. It'd be a sweet way to introduce the runners/cyclists I know who think they're "fit" to real fitness.

Thanks for the info. Same basic format: cross country run, WOD and crossfit total?

I feel the need to point out that you are sadly mistaken!
It is common knowledge in the cycling community, particularly among racers, that being a competative cyclist comes at the expense of overall fitness and upper body strength. If you read the message boards you will constantly see references made to the stick arm and flat chests of a cyclists. Most cyclists do not care, the fitness they posess is functional. It is functional in a race, or on a long ride, it is functional to riding.

I know this because I am a bike racer by summer and an all arounder when the racing season ends. I don't pretend to be all-around fit at the height of racing season, but if you want to go on a ride I WILL rip your legs off.
I also intend to pull a 2x bodyweight DL, run a 4:59 mile, and a 59 second 400m during the off-season, not bad for an "unfit" cyclist, eeh?
