i'm bumming.. was throwing a 20lb med ball across my body and against the wall and seriously tweaked my back. i cant tell if its the gluteus media, iliopsoas, or psoas. hurts like heck, already iced and and used ibuprofen 800mg and pain is getting worse. totally bummed.

I guess the first crossfit injury sucks. Teaches you your limits though!

Mine was a serious abdominal injury (took 2+ weeks to heal) doing GHD situps, as well as aggravating a runner's knee injury with tuck jumps (still wear a brace and won't run), all in the same WoD...

Hope you can get back to it soon!

thanks. it really bites, i've been in a groove. cant flex my waist at all. suggestions? seems like ice doesnt get deep enough to where the pain is worst.

Tyler,
I tweaked my back bad doing cleans this past winter. Twisting is what was killing me. Honestly one of the best things I did was to rest it and go to a really good massage therapist. She totally knew what she was doing and within a couple days I was doing light dl's again. At least worth a try

i munched tons of ibuprofen for 6 days, did some light stretching, and had one massage. i was able to work out my upper body pretty well today, and am doing much better. with the pain i had, i was sure it was going to take a long while... however, seems like i'm getting better pretty quick. i will be avoiding any twists of the torso for awhile.
