Do you steam your veggies, or eat them raw?

My goal is to have perfect digestion. I've been eating my veg raw for a while but i now suspect that my digestive system is unable to handle it. Would it be helpful to steam?

cheers

Do more research, Raw is not always better. Add some fermented food to your diet, keeping tweaking. Good goal, easier said then done. How will you know when you have achieved perfect digestion?

Over here they have those steam fresh bags... I devour them,I find I can eat a lot more and enjoy it when I do. Helps a lot when trying to make those blocks. Also they are cheaper than raw.

For some reason Jay's being bashful. Here's a wfs link to an article I think he would suggest...http://www.fitnessspotlight.com/2009...ed-vegetables/

I originally found in on a link on Jay's blog.

Re: Do you steam your veggies, or eat them raw?

personally I'd go for mostly raw or fermented

I've seen many of the studies on nutrients being more readily available after cooking, but I think it's at the expense of many others, along with enzymes. If theres anti-nutrients that need to be cooked out, its a good signal that it wasn't meant for your body in the first place....with the exception being foods that can be 'fermented into digestable foods'

I wouldn't cook your veggies unless your specifically craving some dish

Re: Do you steam your veggies, or eat them raw?

I typically try to have at least one big salad of raw vegetables per day (usually lunch - with meat of course)

My breakfasts may have some cooked vegetables scrammbled in with my eggs and my dinner typically has some cooked vegetables too.

Digestion is usually easy flowing.
