I have to post this...I'm in NYC for work and went to a diner for lunch /w my colleague. Along w/ my egg white omelette, the guy brought FREIS!! instead of a salad. I got my salad too but there was this whole pile of fries on my plate and I didn't touch even one. That was tough!!

Then we went to this Swiss Chocolate store..they have the most amazing truffles..and didn't buy a single one either. That was tougher! I'll get some on Sunday before we leave NYC though.
That's some character. Nice job Anu. Enjoy NYC!

i had a similar situation a few days ago. i ordered beef tenderloin with double veggies and everyone else at the table had plates with huge piles of golden, delicious fries. that took will power & a half.

i am going to make meatballs tonight and i can't use my grandma's recipe from the old country because she uses white bread for consistency. so we'll see how that comes out.

Re: Kick The Sugar/Grains habit challenge

So far today:

Turkey sausage
Apple
Canteloup
Strawberries
Blueberries
Grilled chicken and beef
mixed veggies (asp., carrots, peas)

We're watching a friend's kids tonight and apparently they love breakfast for dinner, so that's what we're having. At least I can dodge the biscuits.

Am I on the right track? How does that stack up against everyone else?

Re: Kick The Sugar/Grains habit challenge

So far I've had:
bf: egg whites, mushrooms, strawberries, protein powder, almond butter
lunch: chicken and big bag of steamed veggies, almond butter

sounds familiar huh.... I'll change it up a little tommorow.

If it's not okay then I'm out! I had a couple of Asahis at a Japanese steakhouse last night (seems morally wrong not to), but I completely avoided the incredibly good fried rice and noodles.

Re: Kick The Sugar/Grains habit challenge

Last night I had a steak at dinner with my wife and they cut me up a fresh green pepper as a side instead of the potato. mmmmm I love when my good tipping pays off.

Alcohol is not part of the challenge!!!! I would never survive if it were... in fact, I've had a long day and will probably grab a little vino on the way home

For me today, so far:
green beans, tomatoes, peppers, onions, chicken (strange breakfast, I know)
black coffee
Cauliflower Lasagna + spinach
debating dinner still...

I feel like my face looks a little bit trimmer already.. is that strange? Anyone else noticing little differences already?

Oh KUDOS to you!! Japanese steakhouse = my weakness... especially the fried rice!!! I probably would have caved.
