Re: 116 snatch attempt

bar was way in front of you.

Never looked like you pulled it back/close to you after you 'hip' popped it.

Good speed getting down, I think if the bar was just a tad more overhead you would have been gold

Re: 116 snatch attempt

You could try pulling those shoulder blades back more, just exagerate the hell out of poking that chest out, might help with the 'pulling backness' and getting under it more. That seems to be my favorite thing to say after watching the chinese olympians' strong backs and big chests.

I watched your C&J PR at 140, and Shawn is right, you are fast as hell getting down there. Nice!

Wow. you have talent, and you could be a really good lifter.

Slow the video down, and look where your weight is just as the bar gets to your hip. Your weight is on the balls of your feet. It should be mid-foot at the furthest, heels at best.

This is why you are throwing the bar too far forward. If you fix that, with your strength and quickness, you could really put up some weight.

What is your bodyweight if you don't mind me asking?

Re: 116 snatch attempt

Thanks alot Glenn, that means alot coming from you. It seems as though the consensus is I am too far forward. I have been pondering something though, is it possible that it is my shoes? I wear an old pair of Do-Wins circa 2005. They have a 1.5 inch heel, and I have noticed that most shoes have a 1 inch heel or lower. The high heel makes it easy to squat deep but I feel like it dosen't do me any favors keeping me sitting back on my pulls. Could be me just searching for an excuse I guess. My bodyweight usually hovers at around 88 kg.
