Newbie. Having trouble picking a box
Hi, I have been following the boards for a while now. Great amount of information on here. I am hoping to see if anyone has any insights in what to look for in a box. I currently train at a globo gym and it just isn't cutting it. There are two affiliates in my area Crossfit Scottsdale and Cactus Crossfit. If anyone has any information regarding the quality of the trainers and facility it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Newbie. Having trouble picking a box
Email both with some questions you're curious about. Majority will offer a "free intro session". Go along to one of these at both, as well as observe a WOD session at both.
No one can really answer the question for you because everyone has different tastes. Some people prefer smaller or bigger class sizes, some have the budget to pay more, or someone might expect help qualifying for the games whereas the next person doesn't care about them. Experience the atmosphere and attitude of trainers at both, then use that to compare price and distance from home. Also, look at the scheduling to ensure you can make the class times of either. |

If it was me I'd try them both out and see which one is the better fit for me and my training goals... I would be really surprised if they didn't allow/encourage you to attend a WOD and sit down to talk with a trainer...

I would also keep an eye on their programming for a few weeks and see which one is more in line with your goals. All affiliate programming is not created equal.

Re: Newbie. Having trouble picking a box
Guys, thank you for the advise! Next step is setting up times to do a WOD and talk to the trainers. I'll admit, for me it is more about the community than it is about the facility.
