I psoted this in the comments to the WOD but thought more people might see it if I posted it here as well


today will only be the second time I have cleaned, last week I did 10sets of 3 reps with 40kg(88lbs) to work on technique. Don't feel ready to go heavy on cleans yet was thinking either keep the weight similar to last week and just work on my form (probabley do a few more reps) or do split it up in to 7 heavier clean pulls (as its its the catch I am having most trouble with) and then 7 jerks

Any suggestions?

What I would do: start with a weight you are pretty sure you can C&J for the first set/rep. Based on how that rep went, adjust the weight for the next rep/set, all the while striving for impeccable form.

Exactly what I do, with a stress the impeccable form. Don't ever throw form out the window for a PR on an Oly lift in the WOD.
