Re: Arm swelling

Scratch that. Any arm swelling and more than usual soreness from pull-ups?

Re: Arm swelling

Prob not rhabdo unless you are peeing weird colors.

How many pullups did you do, and how acclimated are you to pullup volume?

Re: Arm swelling

It was my gf. She 75 total. 5 rounds of 15. She used a band to help her.

And how often does she do high-rep pullups?

Re: Arm swelling

That was the second or third time to do em. But that was the most reps do far. Once or twice every 2 weeks maybe.

Re: Arm swelling

Probably just overdid it.

In my opinion, if a person cannot do an unassisted pullup, they should not be doing 75 of them at once in a workout, bands or no.

Should be scaled to ring rows or equivalent when the volume gets that high.

The same way for any movement. If it can't be done correctly, it shouldn't be done for high reps.

Re: Arm swelling

I've read on here where it's happened to other people and the other female it happened to her arms swell up now everytime she does upper body stuff. That's what I'm afraid of happening. It might happen again.

It very well might if she continues to overdo it. That's my point, moderation and intellegent progression is key.

Her arms won't swell up "every time" she does upper body stuff though.
