Amen! I get bored to tears with running too.... I've gone out of my way to make sure where I run has some good scenery. I'm thinking of doing an "architectural 5k" route for my standard 5k lol. I have a map of a driving/walking architectural tour that I may adapt to my next 5k.

hi!!!

I suck at running... i don't run long enough distances to get bored of running... i just plain suck at it....

it is something that I am working on...

just remember that we all need to get good at everything... not necessarily the best, but good overall athletes..

and it's great that you're training your son!! he'll learn quick smart bout pacing himself soon!!

Yay for the anti-running comments! I really think it's just a question of what our bodies are used to. Adaptation. I used to run 20 miles a week without thinking about it. Auto-pilot. Now that I CrossFit, I'd rather go to the opera (sorry opera lovers) then go out for a 5 mile run.

I put this one together to work on two of my weaknesses. Box Jumps feel better than ever. No triping. Yay! Dips still suck.

Rest Day Social Club Q&As

1) What is your typical work/rest ratio?
4 on/1 off. I would perform better at 3/1 but this works best with the fam.

2) Name a book or two that has influenced you.
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee and Night by Elie Wiesel

3) Favorite alcoholic beverage (if you drink)?
Nothing but white wine! I have zero tolerance for the hard stuff. Lightweight fo sho.

4) What WOD gives you the jitters more than any other?
Fran freaks me out because it's so quick and my heartrate goes from ~50bpm to 160bpm in less than a minute.

Nice work today at the Globo! Always good to see a couplet of the ole 'Goats' getting beat down by ya!

1) All over the place...3-4 CFs a week...2-3 CFEs a week...no structure yet with my sked

2) The Bible and 'The Grapes of Wrath' by Steinbeck...first book I was made to read in school that I ended up loving...still have my copy with all my notes!

3) Martini Blanco vermouth with a hint of lime on the rocks

4) 'Chelsea' gets me because of the thought of hitting that triplet every minute...on the minute...for 30 freakin' minutes! And 'Fran' of course...but she don't complain when I'm done with her in 6 mins or less!

Trying to get back onto a solid 3/1. As of late it's at least been 3 on but maybe 2 off. Not solid yet.

w i n e and mai thais. but shhh... I'm not 21.

4) What WOD gives you the jitters more than any other?
Fran freaks me out. But I think all WODs make me have 100 stops to the bathroom before 3, 2, 1 is even called. I get nervous hah.

1. It used to be 4 on, 1 off, 1 on, 1 off... Now that I'm just getting back into WODs after the injury/rehab, we'll see what works best.

2. For literary reasons - helping me to be a better writer - I'd have to say Moby Dick. For other reasons, I'd have to say just about anything John Irving writes. I've read 7 or 8 of his books and he just seems to speak to me - almost too well.

3. Belvedere vodka martini -- no vermouth, 3 olives.

4. Fight Gone Bad always elicits the jitter response in me. It is one of those WODs that crushes me every time... and no matter what, it always takes the same amount of time, so the suck-age is always pretty bad!

Fran. I pace, get an upset stomach, and jitters every time.
