Re: Wii Fit: Not High Intensity After All
Wii fit? Not so much. The EA Fit one, I'd argue, is better than nothing. My wife uses it, and it's at least as intense as going to an aerobics workout.

Re: Wii Fit: Not High Intensity After All
The Wii fit reminds me of an old joke. A guy asks his priest a question about praying. "Sometime when I pray, I have the tv on. Is it okay to pray while watching tv?" "Absolutely not, you must devote yourself to praying. You cannot do anything else while praying"
"Well, sometime when I watch tv, I start to pray, is that okay" the preist says " Sure, thats fine" You can't consider the Wii excersize. But playing a video game that has some movement is better than playing a video game with no movement, if playing video games is what you are after. |

I think Dance Dance Revolution should have tried to play the fitness card more. That video game will sure get your heart rate a lot higher than any of the Wii fit stuff and is a lot of fun once you get the hang of it.

Good god yes. We used to play that in college... and if you're any good at it, it's pretty much like sustained sprinting w/ coordination involved. Great "workout".

Re: Wii Fit: Not High Intensity After All
I was telling a relative about Crossfit earlier in the year and her response was "I started doing the Wii Fit, you should really give it a shot, it will do wonders for you". I told her I was thrilled with what I was doing and her reply was "yeah but with Wii Fit you can track your progess and it tells you exactly what your body needs and your program doesn't have that".

obviously it's not a comprehensive program, but it definately gets intense. I was never able to do many of those songs at the highest level, but I still had several times I had to sit down because I was drenched and sucking wind. never tried wii fit, don't care to. |
