Felt the need to quote it just incase you missed it the first time and to remind you that other people agree with me.

Take some time and rest... seems like it might do you some good.

Thanks Craig.

The PR's having been coming along pretty nicely. I took the last two days off completely... So hopefully that helped.

Re: The Mutation from Man to Machine...

9/9/8

Took the last three days off... I took the advice of friends and fellow CF'ers, not to mention my own body. It was a wise choice. Now, I'm ready for a Bad *** CF week!

Back Squats 7x2

10 - 40# Bar (Warm-Up)

2 - 130#
2 - 150#
2 - 180#
2 - 200#
2 - 210#
2 - 220#
2 - 240# (Not Past Parallel)

4x15 Unanchored Abmat Sit-Ups

WOD:

5-4-3-2-1 of:
275# Dead Lifts
135# Thrusters
Burpee Pull-Ups

Time - 6:03

Jim said I was pushing through this WOD pretty well. Slowest part was the burpee pull-ups. I had to pause everytime and find my jump spot because I was jumping up to my 2x4 rafters in the garage, so it wasn't the kindest surface to do this exercise. If done on a regular bar, I really think my time could have greatly improved... Nonetheless, I'm pretty happy with that time. I really only rested a few seconds on some of the Thrusters. My Dead Lifts were smokin'...

Pretty good day... It was nice taking the last few days off. I really feel that my body needed it. Now... It's time to destroy it, once again

Re: The Mutation from Man to Machine...

Nice work with the CL/thruster/burpee PU WOD. I want absolutely NO part of that one...

Just stopped by to say either Thanks (or F U), for the inspiration to do elevated ring pushups and DUs. I went 10/9/8/etc on the PUs, and 10/11/12/etc on the DUs; that that was after a 6 round Bear!

Thank goodness I had a Fran Plus scheduled this AM....(250m row at the start of each round of 21/15/9 thrusters/PUs).

Thanks again, I'll keep watching...

Well thanks Dave!

I guess I'll take a little thanks and a little F.U. for those Elevated Ring Push-Ups and DU's...

C'mon Dave... You gotta try the WOD I just did with the DL's, Thrusters, and Burpee's. But make sure to make those Burpee PULL-UPS, don't wuss out on me now...

Fran Plus sounds interesting... Have to give that a try whenever I can get to a ****ing rower!!! Seriously, I need one...

You keep watching, I'll keep posting!

Re: The Mutation from Man to Machine...

9/10/8

Officially started the Zone today. Let's see how we do...

Front Squats:
10 - 40# Bar

3x3
3 - 130#
3 - 150#
3 - 170#

L-Sit and Planche holds on Parallettes

WOD:
15-12-9
135# Power Clean
HSPU's
Double Unders

Time - 8:28

My clean form needs work. I'm going to work on it a lot over the next few weeks. Overall my HSPU's were pretty good and my DU's were solid.

I finished with some Clean Practice with a light, un-weighted bar.

Evil WOD, dude - and excellent time!

but you know what I am going to tell you....
You've got a 450# DL and your Back Squat is WHAT?
YOU!!! To the squat rack!!! NOW!
Don't come back until your Squat 1RM is somewhere near 75% your DL 1RM.

just kidding - kind of.
Seriously though - work those squats!
Unless you weren't trying to get anywhere near your 1 RM - then tell me to Fxxx off because I am out of line.

No dude, you're absolutely right. My squat is some fiercely weak ****! My deadlift is solid in my opinion but compared to my squat... Just a tragedy.

Like I said before, I had never really squatted before until sometime in July so I'm slowly getting my form down and more and more comfortable with the lift. It's ****ing crazy that I can front squat almost as much as I can back squat... Gotta be something mental there too I think.

Seriously though, like I've said many times, I respect your opinion and know what I have to do. I've been trying to get squats in more and more, always working the form. With your help, I am officially rocking the "zone" baby... So hopefully as I work the lifts, my performance will get crazy.

Thanks for the kudos on the WOD the other day, that one was fun and fast. I would recommend you try that one here soon, it was a keeper, for sure.

Re: The Mutation from Man to Machine...

some people have that big gap between their DL and SQ.

I had that for years... when I was doing strongman I DL'd 650+ and squatted 405. I don't know why...

maybe try a Smolov squat cycle once and see if that can bring up the numbers. Or maybe you need someone to work with you on perfecting that form, which can make your numbers rise quickly once you adapt.

other than that.... great times!

Thanks Jay.

I'll look into that Smolov squat cycle. I have a buddy that's a big O-lifter that is helping me on my technique.

Your strong-man numbers are stupid dude... I can't even imagine...
