Thanks Kim... It's always nice to see your beautiful smiling face

8/22/8

Warm-Up-

OHS: 5x5
5 - 45#
5 - 90#
5 - 110#
5 - 90#
5 - 90#

OHS's are a very new weapon in my arsenal, so I am concentrating on form and balance. I am getting much better, and these squats felt great. My weightlifting shoes should be here next week, so that should help up my game as well...

40 - Unanchored Abmat Sit-Ups

WOD: "Helen"
3 Rds.
Run 400M
1.5 Pood KB Swings - 21 Reps
12 Pull-Ups

Time - 12:03

ARGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH... I called out "Sub 12:00" and I had it... I ****ing had it!!! Then I caught myself just standing there in a mental-fatigued dazed and next thing I new it was 11:59 with one Pull-Up left... Son of a *****!!! Ruined my day, to say the least.

Re: The Mutation from Man to Machine...

I took Saturday and Sunday off. Much needed rest days. However, I threw in a little too much alcohol and not enough quality food, so now I must kick myself in the ***...

8/25/8

Front Squats 5x3
3 - 130#
3 - 150#
3 - 170#
3 - 190# (2 solid reps, 1 half *** rep)
3 - 180#

30 - Anchored Abmat Sit-Ups with 25# Plate on chest

WOD#1
5 Rds for max reps:
HSPU's - Max Reps
30" Elevated Ring Push-Ups - Max Reps
(Rest 3 min. between each Rd)

Rd.#1 - HSPU's 16, ERPU's 12
Rd.#2 - HSPU's 12, ERPU's 12
Rd.#3 - HSPU's 9, ERPU's 10
Rd.#4 - HSPU's 9, ERPU's 9
Rd.#5 - HSPU's 8, ERPU's 9

Total - HSPU's: 54
Total - ERPU's: 52

The HSPU and ERPU combo is brutal!!! I can kill some ring pushups under normal circumstances but man... Coupled with the HSPU's, just killer.

Rest 5 min. then did WOD#2...

WOD#2
3 Rds.
70# Sandbag Sprint - 120 Meters
Double 70# DB Farmers walk/run - 60 Meters

Time - 7:05

Brief rest period then,

Tabata Heavy Bag Work

Rest 4 min. then,

Tabata Heavy Bag Ground N' Pound

Excellent training session today... Did a lot to make up for a couple of ****ty days... Felt great and I think this is going to be a good week! Can't wait!

Re: The Mutation from Man to Machine...

8/26/8

Warm-Up:

30 Ring Dips for Time - 1:58

Then,

Weighted Ring Pull-Ups 5x3

3 - 20#
3 - 25#
3 - 35#
3 - 40#
3 - 50#

Then some Free Handstand Practice (getting much better )

WOD:
For Time:
Run 800 Meters
95# Shoulder Press, 21 Reps
Run 800 Meters
95# Push Press, 21 Reps
Run 800 Meters
95# Push Jerk, 21 Reps

Time - 18:55

Considering I completely LOATHE running long distances (yes, 800 Meters is considered a long distance to me), I did alright. Could have done much better, like most things, but this was a great workout and running is something I really need to work on. So I embrace my ever-so-obvious weaknesses...

After the WOD I did,

Snatch form practice with 35# bar (form improving)

and,

Split Jerk from practice with 35# bar (form improving)

then,

Barbell Curl 2x3

3 - 125#
3 - 125#

Just to see what my heavy curls would look like these days. My 1RM curl when I was 220# was 125#, so now I'm 40# lighter at 180# and kickin' out 3 reps at the same weight. The weight I lost sure as **** wasn't quality muscle mass, Yay!

Until tomorrow...

Re: The Mutation from Man to Machine...

First, you know how I feel about ring dips

Do you realize you are doing pullups that equal more than you used to weight at your heaviest?! I bet you couldn't have rocked all those out before though! Bada**.

The only way to get better at running is... obviously to run more. I have a feeling you will also loathe it less the more you do it!

Keep up the good work crazy heavy metcon machine!

Yes Kim, I know how you feel about the ring dips. However, if I refer to all my ring dips as rib dislocates, I would throw a lot of CF'ers for a loop...

Haha... "Crazy Heavy Metcon Machine", I'm flattered. I would take that over plain ol' "David Schneider" any day

Re: The Mutation from Man to Machine...

8/27/8

Today was a great day for all mankind...

Received my Weight Lifting shoes from VS Training today... Love them. They fit like a charm and I can already see an improvement in form and function. Some people say they're ugly, but we all know that they're just jealous!

Warm-Up:

Deadlifts - Heavy Singles:
1 - 290#
1 - 340#
1 - 390#
Drumroll please... 1 - 450# PPPPPPPPPPPPPRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!! Pulled @ a BW of 181.2#!
1 - 340#

The DL's felt heavy today, even the 290#. But who gives a ****, right? Pulling PR's is awesome, heavy feeling or not! If it's not heavy, it's not a PR!

I'm super pumped for that pull... I'm the lightest weight I've been since I was 3 years old and I'm at my strongest, loving it.

Then,

Back Squats:
10 - 135#
8 - 155#
6 - 165#
4 - 175#
2 - 185#

Back Squats felt really good. Form is getting better everytime. The shoes helped quite a bit. Having that solid base helps keep your form structured quite nicely.

Then some gymnastic practice, HSPU's, Ring Dips, L-Sits, etc...

Then, for a quick sweat...

Tire Flipping Relay for time,

Time - 2:31, You guys have no basis on how to judge this time, but trust me, it's pretty decent. I'm not one to say my times are ever very good, cause they're not, but I am pretty good at this tire relay, probably because I designed it

The first time I flipped the relay with my two tires, my time was close to 5 minutes, so as you can see, I have managed to shave that down nearly in half.

Like I said... Today was a great day.

Re: The Mutation from Man to Machine...

Oh ****... You're going to be checking in on me Sean? Damn... Now I actually have to start busting ***!

8/28/8

Warm-Up:

Gymnastic Practice

OHS 5x5
5 - 60#
5 - 80#
5 - 90#
5 - 100#
5 - 100#

OHS's getting better. Still feel a little uncomfortable, but still progressing.

WOD:
30 - HSPU's
40 - Pull-Ups
50 - KB Swings, 1.5 Pood
60 - Unanchored Sit-Ups
70 - Burpees

Time - 22:27

****ty time, I know... I wanted sub 25:00 and I hit that, so... I just wasn't feeling it today, but I pushed through it.

Tomorrow should be a good, heavy day. Can't wait!

Re: The Mutation from Man to Machine...

8/29/8

Warm-Up:

5x5 Weighted Ring Dips
5 - 15#
5 - 25#
5 - 30#
5 - 40#
5 - 50# (3 dips, paused for a few seconds, then 2 more dips)

Parallete practice with tucks, L-sits to handstand progressions, etc...

Weighted Push-Up ladder
10 - With 70# Sandbag across back
8 - With 70# Sandbag across back
6 - With 70# Sandbag across back
4 - With 70# Sandbag across back
2 - With 70# Sandbag across back

Those were suprisingly tough to grind out... I can certainly feel the benefits, but boy... Tough work.

Shoulder Press 3x3
3 - 130#
3 - 140#
3 - 125#

My shoulders are ****ing toast... I felt like a ***** doing these, shoulders just weren't having it today. Could be something with all the HSPU's yesterday, blah...

WOD:

3 Rds.
5 - 125# Bear Complex
120 Meter Run with 70# Sandbag across back

Time - 9:48

Again, with my ****ball shoulders in question, the bears were tough... as always, but just a little nastier today. I know those bears aren't the heaviest, but that's a good, challenging weight for me and I really had to push to get through them. If I had been fresh, and not on the last leg of a week long WOD session, then I think things might have gone a bit more favorably for me, but I finished in under 10 minutes, and that's what I wanted. Damn it...

I had the exact same phenomenon in reverse yesterday. I did shoulder presses Wednesday, and then Wednesday's WOD last night, and the aftermath of the shoulder presses made the HSPU's add probably 2 unnecessary minutes to my WOD time. Ah well, it was still a solid workout.

I gotta say though, I'm way impressed by the volume of work you're able to pump out on a daily basis! Maybe it's old age setting in on me, but I don't think there's any way I could do that much strength work, and then throw a WOD or 2 on the end of it... At least not and sustain it for weeks at a time like you're doing. Kudos to you!
