Painstorm

I beleive Chad got this workout from Painstorm in Scotland. A couple of us gave it a try at RainerCrossfit.

Run 800m
50 tire jumps @ 24"
10 pullups
40 overhead squats @ 45lbs (bar)
10 pullups
30 thrusters @ 95lbs
10 pullups
20 handstand pushups
10 pullups
10 ring dips
10 pullups
run 400m
10 pullups
10 ring dips
10 pullups
20 handstand pushups
10 pullups
30 thrusters @ 95lbs
10 pullups
40 overhead squats @ 45lbs (bar)
10 pullups
50 tire jumps @ 24"
run 800m

I think he altered it a bit, but it was still a "PAIN"

You know...Seeing as my campus gym just closed for winter break, I was wondering how I was going to do tomorrow's WOD... but I DO have a PT pit near the cadet barracks on campus and I might just hate myself enough that I'm having some evil thoughts.

I have a tractor tire (probably 24"), pullup bars and dip bars so I'm thinking knees to elbows for the OHS, 1 to 1, 3 dips for 1 ring dip, and 1 tire flip for 1 thruster.

So the whole thing will look like this:

Run 800m
50 tire jumps @ 24"
10 pullups
40 knees to elbows
10 pullups
30 tire flips
10 pullups
20 handstand pushups
10 pullups
30 dips
10 pullups
run 400m
10 pullups
30 dips
10 pullups
20 handstand pushups
10 pullups
30 tire flips
10 pullups
40 knees to elbows
10 pullups
50 tire jumps @ 24"
run 800m

I'll post my time tomorrow...god this is gonna suck!

Ouch! Def. let me know how that one goes. The handstand pushups were a
b!#*h for me.

Grip was definitely the limiting factor. 25 degrees plus cold bars and a cold tire equals hard. On the last set of tire flips because I couldn’t get a good handhold I had to bear hug the tire and try to heave it over - probably 15-20 minutes just on that set.

Because of grip I also changed the last set of knees to elbows on the fly - I did knees to shoulders on the dip bars.

All pullups kipped. The second half of the second set of dips was kipped.

I used the dip bar to self assist the HSPU's. The first set was probably 80% arms 20% legs with the last one probably closer to 50-50.

But on the bright side - I know what my weakness is to work on!

(Tomorrow's DOMS is going to be hell....)

Huge difference in times with those who could do handstand pushups in sets and those who could not.

I couldn't imagine doing your workout in that weather!! My shoulders and top of my head from falling down are killing me....

We were thinking of doing something like this again but changing the HSPU to 20 cal on the C2 rower and throwing in some muscle ups in there somewhere to keep the momentum going.
