Re: What's your no-fail pump up playlist?

I thought I would see more Tool on here. The only person with Tool listed, Nadia, has Tool up there with Rihanna, Madonna and Justin Timberlake. I am not a big fan of the other stuff Nadia has listed but she totally won me over by listing Aenima.

For me most of Tool's songs will make me go until my heart explodes

It's not enough.
I need more.
Nothing seems to satisfy.
I don't want it.
I just need it.
To feel, to breathe, to know I'm alive."

I'm gettin' goose bumps already. Where's my gym clothes!?!?!

This is a great band, too bad they don't get more play.

add to it:

Five Finger Death Punch (loving this band right now)
In This Moment
Kitty
Killswitch Engage
American Headcharge (awesome, awesome band, go see them live)
Static X
Shadows Fall
Die Cast
Sevendust

load 'em up and hit shuffle.

Re: What's your no-fail pump up playlist?

Wanna thank everyone who posted Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphies.

For some reason, Drunken Lullabies (the album) keeps me moving throughout a 5k without even wincing. No other music does it for me on that particular task.

Also, David Sailor, your playlist sounded so amazing that I went out and assembled one with every song I had from that list. Subbed out Cartman and a lot of the songs I didn't have, but basically tried to stick with the "pain" theme, and came up with:

Hurt - NIN
Broken - Bad Religion
Maggie's Farm - Rage version
Invalid Little Dept. - At the Drive-In
Hands on the Bible - Local H
Toxic (Yes, of Britney Spears fame) - Local H version
Red Eyes and Tears - BRMC
My ****'s *****ed up - Warren Zevon
The Band Played Waltzing Matilda - The Pogues
Hurt - Johnny Cash

I know it's geeky, but I spent about an hour balancing this and testing it out. The idea was to balance it so that it'd get progressively slower and more painful, as I get slower in the workout.

Eddie, funny because my music taste is all over the board but one of my all time favorite bands is tool! I've seen them live quite a few times, and i go crazy! Aenma is one of my favorites i also love eulogy, 46&2 and pretty much everything off that album, i like the older stuff too. tool always gets me pumped, but for somereason i work out really well to that pop music stuff!

Re: What's your no-fail pump up playlist?

My girlfriend loves that pop stuff too when she works out. You would think she was a 14 year old girl.

Most stuff by Tool
A lot of Radio Head
Electronic music with little or no lyrics with an intense driving beat
Metallica "Master of Puppets" whole album YES!
All that angry stuff that everyone else has listed

Now here is one that I don't understand myself... Sarah McClachlan when I am running.

Re: What's your no-fail pump up playlist?

My tastes run the gamut. Lean towards hip-hop for working out; Kanye, Nelly Furtado, Common, Matisyahu, Chili Peppers, Linkin Park, Jay-Z, Chemical Brothers (I sometimes rotate "Galvanize" for like every third song, probably my number 1 pump song), Black Eyed Peas, Limp Bizkit, Rage Against the Machine, Jane's Addiction, Led Zeppelin. I defy anyone to not smile when "Sweet Home Alabama" comes on.
