had a question regarding recent WOD's. i've noticed that in the last week or so a some of the WOD's call for a 5 minutes rest or a 2 minute rest between exercises. i've been doing crossfit for about 5 months now and since i have started have always been under the impression that you are supposed to perform the exercises as quick as possible while, with little or no rest, while keeping good form. was just wondering why the recent change.

thanks!

My view on this....variety!
This rest allows one to reach a little deeper and work on the neural recruitment necessary for tripple BW DL and squats and feats such as these. The metabolic conditioning of Crossfit can and does enhance max strength and power but to only train in this way limits efficacy of the total program when observed from a perspective of months and years. As coach mentions in the foundations a programs only strength is in how it will be changed to address the weaknesess of the most recent endeavors.
