Double unders

I feel I'm very close to getting these but just can't. I am able to get one but not consecutive jumps. I know this is a beaten horse but is there a video, exercise, a prayer, something or anything that can help me out. I know repetition is key but if I'm repeating the same wrong technique, then it's not helping me. Thanks.

Re: Double unders

Rope speed and rhythm are my biggest hurdles in linking double-unders. To help remedy that, obviously repetitive DU's helps, but I gained a lot by doing alternating SU/DU/SU/DU... Which was up scaled from doing normal jump rope then mixing in a DU occasionally, and then the successive iteration after 1:1 would be SU/DU/DU/SU/DU/DU... All of which was meant to get used to controlling the speed of the rope and where it needs to be when I jump for a DU.

All that said, it's just jumping rope. It shouldn't take much work in terms of focused practice.

Re: Double unders

i've been in a similar situation, but a friend of mine got me a massive step closer over the weekend.

his big tip was - put aside the jump rope, stand with your hands by your side, start jumping as if you were doing SU, but higher, then start clapping your hands against your thighs, next do the same with DU (so 2 claps to each jump), then go back to the rope.

at least for me, it was really strange because almost immediately i was able to get 2/3 DUs in a DU,SU,SU,SU,DU pattern, whereas before it would take me like 10 SU between each DU
