rest day routine/ active recovery

I know this topic has been covered a few times but i haven't found anything conclusive that satisfies what I'm asking.
- on my off days (sunday) i want to do something light for active recovery, does anyone have any active recovery workouts they do/ recommend. i know an easy jog works but the weathers taking a turn so id rather find something easy to do indoors. i can't stand doing absolutely nothing and i already do mobility every day so some easy stretching mobility skill work etc won't cut it.

Re: rest day routine/ active recovery

"Active recovery" and "workout" are contradictory. Rest on your rest days.

If it feels like more than an easy warmup, you probably did too much. If you sweat enough to need a shower, it was probably too much.

A *slow* *easy* stint on the rower or exercise bike can sub for an easy jog if the weather is bad. Personally, I'd recommend yoga or other stretching, even if you're already doing that on other days.

Re: rest day routine/ active recovery

thanks!

what i was more wondering though is if anyone does any sort of east body weight routine, skills stuff etc. and how to organize it.

i know Crossfit endurance recommends this for off days, but i dont know if its good or not:
ghd situps 3x15
ghd back extension 3x15
kbs 3x15
pulls up 3x15
bench press 3x15

No they don't. They recommend that for immediately after a race or, possibly, a longer stamina day.

An easy swim is good for active recovery.

Re: rest day routine/ active recovery

www.mobilitywod.com is great for rest days

Doing some band stretches (specifically super couch and some of the hip opening ones with a band on the back of your leg stretching your hip forward) make you feel like a new person.

I do a light total body thing. Something like 10 barbell squats, 10 push ups, a few pull ups or chin ups, some back extensions. Just enough to get the blood flowing. Don't go for exhaustion, go for warmth and then stretch afterward.

Soaking and contrast showers are also nice on rest days
