Westside for athletes

http://www.slideshare.net/ICONPerfor...s-cressey-site (wfs)

Is this the new one Chris Mason was talking about in one of the threads here, or some 3rd party imitation?

No that's an old slide show Cressey made. It's a good one by the way and worth checking out, but its not the new program--the top says 2 years ago.

Re: Westside for athletes

I emailed Chris last night while I was ordering some supplements and he said it should be out in the next few months with its own website, certification and the works. He said Rick Scarpulla is spearheading the project. It should be a great program with so many knowledgeable people involved.

Re: Westside for athletes

Yep, that is not Louie's and Rick's Wetside for Athletes. This project came out of Louie's working with Rick over the years and both of their (and my) desire to get the Westside system out there to a greater extent in the athletic world. We KNOW Westside is the best resistance training system for athletes based on years of Louie working with them and we now want to get the word out as much as possible. What is very cool about this system is it will use the Westside template and add to it a lot of agility work etc. Personally I think it will be ideal for CrossFitters as well. To be clear, while I will be involved, this is really Rick's baby with Louie's backing.

Chris, what form is this going to take? Is it an E-book? A website? I'm really looking forward to it!

Re: Westside for athletes

Not 100% decided yet, but definitely video(s), a website, and seminars.

Re: Westside for athletes

I havne't read the link, but is it just basically similar to what DeFranco's been doing for the last few years (W4SB1,2&3), except Louie's programming it himself?

Re: Westside for athletes

I don't think there is a link yet.

As Chris pointed out, Rick Scarpullla is doing the programming and Louie is giving the seal of approval. Rick, like Chris helps out with the Westside Certs. He did a demo on upper body plyometrics and uses Louie's methods with a lot of athletes.

My guess is it will be different the WS4SB. I think it will stick with a basic Westside Template and overlap conditioining/drills for athletes.

I think this will be another way to see how to integrate different sports/fields with the basic Westside system.
