Dead On article by Chris Mason

Has anyone incorporated it into their training? I don't currently have a CFJ subscription but just noticed this article and I'm very interested.

On one hand I hate to get a subscription for just 1 article but on the other it's only $25 and I'm sure there are other articles that I'd enjoy and use.

Any comments from Chris and/or anyone whose put the info into practice would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think so. That's specific to the CF Conjugate article. I almost posted it there but didn't want to hijack the thread.

$25/year is a ridiculously low price for a CFJ subscription considering you also get access to every issue and article back the first one in 2002.

Re: Dead On article by Chris Mason

Did either of you read the article? I don't need details, a basic "it was good and used the conjugate method to target the deadlift" is all I'm looking for.

It gives a 12 week template for improving the deadlift using the conjugate method and explains the various assistance exercises. It basically argues against linear progression and explains why the conjugate method is superior.

Thanks Tamara, that's exactly what I was looking for. Any opinions?

My thoughts are this... I used the conjugate method template Chris did up...and have done a few rotations through it, and I keep making gains. This is coming from a person who competes/competed in strongman and have a good strength base already.

In case you care, my 1RM's are 510 on squats, 606 deads, 315 push jerk. This program is no joke and there's a reason guys like Spealler are using it. It works.

I will also say that I've been on Chris' board for YEARS....and he's never led me astray.

Stu, I really appreciate the response. That's actually the reason I'm interested in this article. I just started strongman training and my deadlift sucks (315 x 10, no recent 1RM).

BTW, I've been at WBB for a few years myself
