Missed a post last week. Did the same program but with deadlift. Hit 355.

Re: The Chronicles of Brady
Went back with the intention of squatting today. Shoulder couldn't handling racking the bar. I went for a run. Did 3.25. Felt easy. Stopped because my calves were really tight. Didn't want to overdo it. Longest run I've done in a loooong time.

Re: The Chronicles of Brady
Brady, I am curious about this reverse pyramid sequence for squats you are using, and the logic behind it. I assume these are your worksets. Do you do any warmup sets beforehand, pyramiding up from lighter weights to somewhat heavier weights, and then do the worksets? Or do you do the worksets without any warmup? If the latter, are you sure this is wise?

Re: The Chronicles of Brady
Hey Luke,
This is a program that Nik put me on. Yes, I warm up to the big weight. I have been doing as much of my warmup as I can and then I start on singles on the squat, working up to the heaviest single I can do. I generally start from about 115 and do quite a few sets working up. |

Re: The Chronicles of Brady
Luke the program is a heavy single ''max''effort.
Then 70% of that for at least 3x3 adding weight if posible but you don't have to if it feels heavy enough. The 2 sets at 50 to 60% of that max x5 reps for form and speed. Brady just post peak sets and reps and does not post all reps. I think he did like 20 some ''set'' on his build up to his single on dead lift last time. |

Re: The Chronicles of Brady
Thanks for the comments on reverse pyramid training. That is something I'll work into my routine one of these days, though not for the time being. I was curious to know if it has some sort of warmup set or sets, which I know I need. For example, I need two light warmup sets to go into a full, deep squat.

Re: The Chronicles of Brady
Heavy power clean singles. 210 max. 5lb PR for me. Not pretty. Not even kinda attractive, but I got it up there. Then 3x3 at 140.
