100 Meter Rowing Dash for Cash Olympic style

I was just sent this from some of the guys we know on the UK Rowing team. If anyone has the metal give it a try. These dudes are smooth and have definite motors. - Greg

Holy crap, 15ish seconds for 100m! It is nice to see that they were winded though.

Oh and the link is w/f/s too.

5 x 100m rows for time would make a great workout, never thought about sprints on a rower before. Also its good to watch an Olympic rowers technique out of boat on the C2. I noticed how much they lean back and pull up towards there chest.

I'm pretty confident they would destroy me.

Anthony based on your 500m row time I would have expected faster. But I guess going from a dead stop each time takes a bit to get up to speed.

Based on what I've seen, a 100m/500m comparison is usually 17-19%. But honestly, I have no idea if that's good/bad/typical ... maybe Greg H has more input.

You're a stud. I did it, at 245lbs, and had to take about a minute rest between each set. I got gassed quick.

1) ~17s, didn't have the timer setup right
2) 16.9s
3) 16.5s
4) 16.2s

First 3 at drag factor of 145, last one at 165, felt much better. Really need to work on "sprint form" as these were all kinda ugly. I'm gonna work on this every once in awhile until I can hit solid 15's.

I can't believe dudes can do a sub 1:20 pace for the full 500m. Wow.
