my max unassisted pullup is *cough* 6 *cough*.
should I attempt the Chelsea WOD pullups
assisted or unassisted? I'm afraid that if I go
for it unassisted I won't be able to complete
more that 2 or 3 rounds.

Patrick - just keeping going for 30 minutes and count the total number of rounds. The first time I did Chelsea I stopped after like 7 minutes.

Gass on the un-assisted PU's and then use say 25% BW to counter ballance ( have access to a gravitron?), gass on this and then use 50%. If you gass on this or run out of time you are done. Start adding PU's into every warm-up ( just 2-3 reps, 2-3 sets initially) and do a few throughout the day if possible. A month from now your max will likely be double or tripple your currnet number.

thanks for the advice jon and robert.
i managed to complete 4 rounds unassisted, but by the 5th I couldn't do one pullup w/o assist so I switched over to assisted pullups and finished the workout w/ 28# of assist (85% body weight).
I managed to complete 12 sets in 30 minutes and was sucking air bigtime at the end. the pullups were my definite weak point, pushups and squats were fine.

I just bought a pullup bar that I'm going to install in my downstairs bathroom. I've set a shortterm goal of 10 pullups, but I really want to be able to do 20.

oh yeah, i'm really sore today :-)
