That target was done rapid fire, at about 15 feet. The gun was new and I was still getting the feel for it. I was very pleased, so I stopped there and changed targets before doing more, since the grouping looked so nice. I took the picuture to send a friend who wanted to know how I liked the gun, as that seemed to say it all It's a Springfield XD 40.

Would like to see those targets. A new rifle is on my Christmas list, but I haven't decided what I want (how else to give the hubby clear Christmas shopping instructions?).
I have a XD 40 just like yours except all black. It is one the most fun and sweet shooting handguns straight out of the box. You need to get a light for that bad boy because it makes it look just that much more threatening.

You'll probably be losing those items to the person holding the weapon.

Besides that, duct tape will only hold down a zombie for so long. The zombie will eventually escape.

It's true, I've seen it a million times.

Re: Disaster Preparedness Kit

I'm not prepared for anything, but i have a copy of this book:

http://www.lulu.com/content/paperbac...llapse/6745965 (w/s)

Very interesting reading, it was written by a guy that went through a financial collapse in Argentina where they had hyperinflation and all sorts of other problems

Not only talks about what weapons/food to keep, but what they used for currency during the worst of it

Good reading

Most fallout by definition is solid form, some soluble & some insoluble. You could filter out the big chunks and then use simple distillation to extract the water and leave the fission fragments and irradiated particles behind. Mind you, a larger than normal portion of the water will now contain tritium, a radioactive isotope of hydrogen, but the total curie content in the water could be reduced to acceptably low levels by these methods.

If you have access to a nuclear sub or aircraft carrier, or a commercial nuke plant (although you'd have to be careful - I've seen a lot of Zombies hanging out at these places in my time) then you could use the excellent filtration and demineraliztion systerms onboard to clean the water down to pure water levels.

you can trust me - I'm a Health Physics Technician and a preferred member at Holiday Inn Express.

Ah yes, Argentina. Just one example of what happens when the zombies are allowed to organize and get voted into office. Man I'm so scared of zombies!
