The cojugate westside/cf mash up (only two heavy lifts per week though)
Lascek s&cp

My goal is to gain strength and size, and keep or get a little more conditioned.

My thoughts are all over the place and I'm not sure which one to go for.
Like I said up above, I prefer GSLP to the 70s Big/Lascek program, and Justin Lascek has spoken favorably of GSLP in a few blog posts and podcasts as well.

Westside/CF seems to work great for the people who do it, but I'm still a little uneducated about Westside in general and prefer to keep things simple in my training, and GSLP did the job fine for me.

Re: Starting Strength + CF?

Mike, as Paulo said, you basically described CrossFitFootball to a T. The Strength WOD is basically SS if you are on the amateur level.

GSLP, 70sBig, 531+CF are other off the top of my head besides Gant's/Oto's hybrid programs which all pretty much require you to figure out your own conditioning. With CFFB, you just look it up.

Re: Starting Strength + CF?

It would give you some variety I think.

On my own, I'd end up very similar conditioning workouts week to week I'd say. Not a bad thing but possibly tedious.

I've been programming my own metcons for about 3 months and haven't repeated one yet so I think I'm ok at it. I just think I did too many and let my strength lifts go off to the side.

Justin's is a solid program. If you stick with it you WILL be rewarded.

(I'm sure CFFB would equally so, but I've never tried it so can't comment).

Re: Starting Strength + CF?

I've done both programs, and like I've said twice already, I made more progress faster on GSLP and enjoyed it a lot more.

Yes, I used it for 6 weeks to transition between Stronglifts and GSLP.
