I'm here too! I'm so new and out-of-shape that I am only doing the CFWU one time as my workout every day. Official start date was 10-25. I stand on a box for my pull-ups but can't wait to get therapeutic bands because I simply end up using my legs too much. But standing on a box for dips works great because my triceps are just so weak that they're still getting a workout. I love the Back Extensions because I really feel it after only 10 reps. I am training for a Half-Marathon (using Galloway's 1 min run / 1 min walk method) so I AM doing something! (9 miles on Saturday) But as far as CrossFit - it's as if I'm just rolling my fat self off of the couch!

Christie,

Congrats on starting CrossFit too! My first CF workout was on Oct. 22nd and I am so hooked on CF that it's not even funny. Best of luck on training for your half marathon. I am a runner also, having just finished my 8th marathon on Oct. 14th and a half marathon this past Saturday. I am learning that CF is going to greatly help my running a lot!

Best of luck to you with CF and with your running! When is your half marathon?

Hi Stephanie,
I have also just started this stuff and also am HOOKED. To the point of cleaning out my garage, and making plans to finish the walls and mount a pull up bar - something I never thought I'd look forward to doing. I have already bought a squat rack, set of Olympic weights (not bumpers though, oh well) and mats for the concrete floor. So Crossfit will not only get me in shape, but teach me about building stuff too! FUN.
There are a few women who post, and I am mostly interested in connecting with the over 30 Mom types (I am 36, and have 4 kids under 6 yo). I want to connect with others who need to scale the WOD's for now, and grow together!!!
Crossfit - it's a beautiful thing.

I have just started also! I am amazed by the strength of the women on here! HOW do you get there. I would kill to be able to even DO half of this stuff!

How you get to anywhere is simple:

Start where you are. Do your best. Be consistent and patient. Don't quit.

Start where you are. Do your best. Be consistent and patient. Don't quit.

Especially the don't quit part. I'm now doing full nose-to-the-deck pushups, and have raised my feet up another step on the stool I use to support part of my bodyweight on pullups.

It doesn't come quickly, but it comes if you give it a chance and do your part.

Keep going, so you can keep going.

Hi Stephanie...I just started this week too!! Yahoooo!!! I have about 30 pds. of fat to lose, so I have added some more cardio....eating clean has been the hardest....maybe we can encourage eachother...oh by the way....how do i do a new post???
