The apple corer comes out when I make a pie, but that's about it. Still, if I didn't have one, I'd make pie less often, and my husband would be sad.

Not to break from the Iced Tea discussion...

But when people misspell "Rogue" as "Rouge."

I tried ordering bumper plates from Maybelline but they said I had too oily of a T-zone.

Additional related pet peeve- any wine opener other than your standard $5 waiter's corkscrew.

Those battery operated, or two- or even three-stage jobbies that fit over the entire neck of the bottle, clamp the cork and hydraulically pull it out, typically come in a dramatically ornate wood or plastic suitcase thingy. Oh man, you just want some wine and it's this 8 minute production to see somebody bring the bottle out, find the opening device, get THAT out out, talk about how they won it in a silent auction...oh god, you have no idea how to really open wine do you?

Corkscrew. Takes 90 seconds to learn how to use one. I think fathers who don't teach their sons this skill are leaving them unprepared for proper manhood.

Exactly. Or you can use the stove and a skillet.

This is much larger than the skillet. It's basically a big-a$$ skillet. So I can cook more bacon, sausage and eggs on it.

Right, I love my plug in griddle, it's much better than a pan for things like breakfast foods, hamburgers, steaks etc.

Re: Biggest Pet Peeve

My favourite was this cast iron griddle that would go over 2 burners on my gas range... then I moved and no longer have a gas range that this fits over perfectly...

People who spell (and pronounce) your name wrong, even when it is phonetic.

This isn't to anyone in particular btw.

What's worse are those who insist on pronouncing their names a different way from the generally accepted way. An example would be this girl I knew who said her name spelled Crystal was pronounced kri-STALL'. What?
