Finally did my first CF workout.

I saw a trainer who only trains crossfit a couple weeks ago to get the hang of the CF exercises.

Anyway, I've just been practicing the moves that he showed me, but not done a full workout. I finally did a "5x4" type of workout yesterday..

20 lb. kettlebell swings,
what he handovers (instead of pushups, need to build up core strength)
box jumps on the tiniest little box
sumo high pulls
GHD situps

I was proud of myself because I am really intimidated in doing this stuff at the gym. I hate to think anyone is looking at me. And I hit a high heart rate, higher than when I spin, weight train, bodycombat or treadmill.

and I'm actually sore today. I love the sore feeling!

Re: Finally did my first CF workout.

congrats on your first CF workout! i started out in crossfit the exact same way. i had to butt-scoot down flights of stairs the next day after doing my first ever box jumps, i was that out of shape.

stick with it! you'll surprise yourself by what you'll find you're capable of.

Re: Finally did my first CF workout.

And the crazy thing is I totally spin for 45-60 minutes and do lots of cardio on the elliptical/arc trainer pretty regular.

Great work! That sore feeling is your muscles thanking you for using them! I remember when I did my first workout and I couldn't walk up the stairs to get to the shower.. it hurt to drive my stick shift car to work..

It WILL get easier with time.. hope you enjoy your workouts, and keep up the hard work!
