I have the 50lb MiR short vest. It's excellent. Anything specific you want to know?

I'm curious to hear more about the differences between the short and long vests, especially if you can load up to 90# on the short one.

From the looks of it, you can load up the 90lb on the short vest. Just curious on the quality of product and pros and cons of the design. I have contacted Patrick.

Re: 90lb Mir short weight vest

When you get the Short vests 65#+ (or Pro vests 95#+), the vest has a different layout for the pockets. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it since it gets so bulky. I've got a Short and an expanded Short vest at home... I'll get you some photos later tonight. Until then, there's some more info in this link:

I have a short 50lbs and it feels a bit unwieldy with all the weight above the abdomen, puts a lot of stress on the low back. I'd prefer something more along the lines of a flak vest design with weight widely distributed (closer to hips), but the weight vest is still an awesome supplement.

My apologies for being late; I accidentally took a nap yesterday evening.

The expanded versions of the vest are simply too bulky, which also gives them a very heavy "feel."

Re: 90lb Mir short weight vest

Iv'e decided to go with the 60lb short vest. I have a 20lb vest from walmart I can throw on if I need a little extra weight. Thanks for the info.

Not so much stress, but extra compensation by the low back. You'll need to work up slowly over several weeks to get used to the extra poundage. I normally do 20lbs but did 30 for a recent workout and really felt the difference. 90 seems a bit much without some of the weight on the hips.
